WITH NEARLY 8,000 MEMBERS, THE OMA IS THE STATE'S LEADING MEDICAL ASSOCIATION DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF OREGONIANS BY SUPPORTING PHYSICIANS, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS, MEDICAL AND PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT STUDENTS, AND PRACTICE STAFF IN THE DELIVERY OF HIGH-QUALITY, AFFORDABLE, AND ACCESSIBLE MEDICAL CARE IN OREGON. THE OMA IS A DUES-BASED MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION AND HAS MEMBERS OF ALL SPECIALTIES, ALL PRACTICE SETTINGS, AND IN ALL AREAS OF THE STATE.CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE OTHE OMA GOVERNMENT RELATIONS TEAM REPRESENTS OUR MEMBERS' COLLECTIVE VOICE, BOTH IN SALEM AND WASHINGTON, D.C., ON LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ISSUES THAT MAY IMPACT THEIR PRACTICES.THE OMA PROVIDES FACE-TO-FACE AND VIRTUAL EDUCATION ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS OF INTEREST TO MEMBERS AND OFFICE STAFF. THESE INCLUDE TIMELY CONTENT ON REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS, FEDERAL AND STATE ISSUES AND RULES, COMPLIANCE, CODING CHANGES, RISK MANAGEMENT, PRESSING PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES AND OTHER RELEVANT ISSUES. THE OMA HAS A MEMBER KNOWLEDGE CENTER OFFERING GUIDANCE FOR INDIVIDUAL PROVIDERS AND CLINICS ON PRACTICE MANAGEMENT, PAYMENT AND PAYER ISSUES, REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE ISSUES, AND OTHER CONCERNS.FINALLY, THE OMA IS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING PUBLIC HEALTH, DEVELOPING AND ENGAGING IN PROJECTS RANGING FROM INCREASING VACCINATION RATES, TOBACCO CESSATION, FIGHTING THE OPIOID ABUSE EPIDEMIC AND PREVENTING DIABETES AND OTHER CHRONIC DISEASES. OUR CORE SERVICES INCLUDE:- GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND HEALTH POLICY.- PRACTICE ADVOCACY.- EDUCATION PROGRAMMING, CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION SERVICES.- REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE GUIDANCE.- MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT, RETENTION AND BENEFITS.- MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS.- OREGON MEDICAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION (OMEF) EVENT CENTER.
