THE JUSTICE WORKSHOP HELD A SERIES OF COMMUNITY EXCHANGES (FORUMS) TO GATHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE ISSUES AT THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEVEL. THESE FORUMS ADDRESSES TOPICS SUCH AS CHANGES NEEDED TO IMPROVE OUR LOCAL MAYORAL SYSTEM; EDUCATION AROUND VOTING SYSTEMS, TO INCLUDE RANK CHOICE VOTING AND PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION, AND HOW ALTERNATE VOTING SYSTEMS WITHIN OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT WOULD EFFECT OUR RESULTS; AND HOW TO MAKE CHANGE THROUGH BALLOT INITIATION PROCESS RATHER THAN CITY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. THE JUSTICE WORKSHOP WAS ALSO INSTRUMENTAL IN COLLABORATING WITH AND SUPPORTING LOCAL POLICY REFORM MEASURES CAMPAIGNED BY OTHER COMMUNITY ADVOCATES.
