APPROXIMATELY 5,200 MCPS K-8 STUDENTS EXPERIENCED ONGOING, DIVERSE ARTS EDUCATION, INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCES, GALLERY VISITS, IN-SCHOOL ARTIST RESIDENCIES, AND ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES. SPARK! ARTS PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CLASSROOM TEACHERS TO UTILIZE ARTS INTEGRATION STRATEGIES IN THEIR OWN TEACHING. SPARK! ARTS PROVIDED A TRAINING SERIES FOR TEACHING ARTISTS TO UNDERSTAND THE STATE OF MENTAL HEALTH IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AND INCREASE TOOLS TO SUPPORT BEHAVIORAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING.
