TO HELP MEN IN THE CANCER RECOVERY PROCESS BY INTRODUCING THEM TO THE HEALING POWERS OF THE SPORT OF FLY-FISHING, WHILE PROVIDING A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT TO EXPLORE THEIR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES WITH CANCER, WITH OTHERS WHO SHARE THEIR STORIES.

REEL RECOVERY HAS ONE PROGRAM, OUR FLY-FISHING RETREAT PROGRAM, WHICH, IN 2021, CONSISTED OF 16 RETREATS IN 13 STATES AND AUSTRALIA. DUE TO COVID, OUR RETREAT SEASON WAS LIMITED TO SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER. THESE RETREATS SERVED OVER 100 MEN, RANGING IN AGE FROM 26-87 WITH ALL FORMS OF CANCER, IN ALL STAGES OF TREATMENT AND/OR RECOVERY. SINCE OUR INCEPTION IN 2003, WE HAVE CONDUCTED 345 RETREATS SERVING OVER 3,750 MEN LIVING WITH CANCER. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A FULL SEASON OF 30+ RETREATS IN 2022.WE HAVE A DEDICATED GROUP OF OVER 700 VOLUNTEERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, WHO ORGANIZE, FUNDRAISE AND IMPLEMENT THE RETREATS AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. THIS HUGE VOLUNTEER BASE ALLOWS US TO KEEP OUR OVERHEAD VERY LOW, WITH ONLY THREE FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR - AND APPLY OVER 88% OF REVENUE TO OUR PROGRAM SERVICES. ALL RETREATS ARE COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE TO THE PARTICIPANTS.
