TO SUPPORT CHARITABLE PROGRAMS FOR THE BENEFIT OF DISADVANTAGED AND AT-RISK ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS IN WESTERN WASHINGTON.

JOHN VOLKEN ACADEMY HAS TAKEN IN A NUMBER OF STUDENTS OVER THE LAST YEAR FOR LIFE SKILLS AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING. THE STUDENTS HAVE LIVED DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE AT THE HOME AND HAVE BEEN DOING JOB TRAINING AT THE WELCOME HOME STORE. ADDITIONALLY THE STUDENTS HAVE BEEN TAKING COURSES FOR GED AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. JOHN VOLKEN ACADEMY PROVIDES HOUSING, FOOD, AND TRAINS THE STUDENTS FOR NO FEE. THE NUMBERS GO UP AND DOWN AS THE STUDENT POPULATION HAS ITS CHALLENGES. CURRENTLY THERE ARE 145 STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM.
