IN 2023, VOLUNTEERS, WHO ARE AVAILABLE 24/7, RESPONDED TO 213 CHAPLAIN CALLS FOR SERVICE WHEN REQUESTED BY EMS, FIRE, HOSPITALS, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. THE ROLE OF THE CHAPLAIN AND SUPPORT OFFICER IS TO PROVIDE COMPASSION, CARE AND COMFORT DURING CRITICAL AND/OR TRAUMATIC INCIDENTS.

OUR ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING INITIATIVE FOCUSED ON COLLABORATION WITH LIKE MINDED ORGANIZATIONS THIS YEAR. THEY INVESTED MANY HOURS ATTENDING MEETINGS AND NETWORKING WITH AGENCIES AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPAND AWARENESS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. WE HAVE ADDED NEW VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE WORKING TOWARD BECOMING TRAINERS OR SUPPORT TEAM MEMBERS. ALTOGETHER, WE HAVE HAD 14 ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS HELPING US WITH COMMUNITY EVENTS, TRAINING, AND OUTREACH.

WITH THE COMPLETION OF THE OSO MUD SLIDE MEMORIAL, WE TRANSFERRED THE REMAINING BALANCE OF THE MEMORIAL FUND TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY PARKS DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO THE END OF 2023. THE PARKS DEPARTMENT HAS SET UP A FUND TO MAINTAIN THE MEMORIAL SITE.
