LOCAL LABOR ORGANIZATION REPRESENTING MEMBERS WITH CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS, REVIEWING ARBITRATION PROCEDURES, GRIEVANCES, AND OTHER MEMBER RELATED BENEFITS SUCH AS STRIKE FUND, SICK PAY, ETC.

IN JUNE OF 2023, THE LABOR ORGANIZATON ENTERED INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH COMPANY'S MANAGEMENT. THE UNION AND COMPANY'S MANAGEMENT FAILED TO REACHED AN AGREEMENT, WHICH LED TO A WORK STOPPAGE AT THE PLANT BY THE UNION AND IT'S MEMBERS. THE STOPPAGE WAS STILL IN EFFECT AS OF DECEMBER 31,2023. THE EXPECTATION IS THAT THE LABOR ORGANIZATION LABOR ORGANIZATION AND COMPANY'S MANAGEMENT WILL PRESUME DISCUSSIONS DURNG THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2024. AS A RESULT OF THIS PROGONGED WORK STOPPAGE, THE UNION MANAGEMENT SPENT EXCESSIVE HOURS COORDINATING THE STRIKE, OBTAINING WEEKLY STRIKE BENEFITS FROM THE INTERNATIONAL UNION, AND ADMINISTERING THE PAYMENT OF BENEFITS TO UNION MEMBERS. THIS WAS A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN RESOURCES IN OBTAINING REVENUE AND PAYING BENEFITS FOR THIS PROGRAM OBJECTIVE COMPARED TO PRIOR YEAR.


ALSO, AS A RESULT OF THE WORK STOPPAGE IN 2023, THE LABOR ORGANIZATION DEVOTED A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME IN MANAGING THE PICKET LINE AND SECURING ADDITIONAL STRIKE FUND BENEFITS FROM OTHER LOCAL AFFILIATES AROUND THE COUNTRY
