THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE SOCIETY IS TO HELP SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN SPIRITUAL OR FINANCIAL NEED. THE SOCIETY HELPS WITH THE BASIC NEEDS OF THOSE IN IMPOVERISHED CIRCUMSTANCES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

STORES: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES ENTRY LEVEL EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING FOR LOW-SKILLED INDIVIDUALS AND AFFORDABLE CLOTHING FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES. THE PROGRAM ALSO SUPPORTS OUR "CONFERENCES WORK" PROGRAM, AND CONTRIBUTES THE PROFITS OF THE OPERATIONS TO SUSTAIN ALL OTHER PROGRAMS. THE STORES HAVE PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT FOR 63 INDIVIDUALS.


CONFERENCES WORK: THIS PROGRAM HELPS SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITH ACCOMPANIMENT OR FINANCIAL NEED. THE SOCIETY HELPS WITH CLOTHING NEEDS AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS OF ANYONE IN IMPOVERISHED CIRCUMSTANCES. IN ADDITION, THE SOCIETY HELPS WITH THE PREVENTION OF EVICTIONS, HUNGER, AND UTILITY SHUT OFF. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES PERSONAL VISITS TO THE PERSON IN NEED. MOST OF THE RESOURCES ARE SUBSIDIZED BY THE CONFERENCES FUNDRAISING EFFORTS. THE OUTREACH VOLUNTEER NEIGHBORHOOD VOLUNTEER GROUP PROVIDED ASSISTANCE IN CASH VALUED AT $2.8 MILLION AND IN-KIND OF $1.1 MILLION - VOLUNTEERS LOGGED 5,718 HOME VISITS AND HELPED OVER 40,267 INDIVIDUALS.


FOOD AND CLOTHING BANK: THE FOODBANK RESPONDED TO 59,000 FOOD AND CLOTHING ASSISTANCE REQUESTS. IT ALSO PROVIDES HEALTH SCREENINGS AND A COMMUNITY CONNECTORS PROGRAM TO OTHER AGENCIES AND TO CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES. THE FOODBANK DISTRIBUTED FOOD AT A VALUE OF $1,380,198 FOR THE YEAR.
