NURSING EDUCATION: PRESENTED VIRTUAL NURSING EDUCATION WORKSHOPS ON: MENTORLINK MEETUP: NEW NURSES; RESTORE & REVIVE WORKSHOP; BOOK CLUBS: BEING MORTAL: MEDICINE AND WHAT MATTERS IN THE END AND THE SPIRIT CATCHES YOU AND YOU FALL DOWN: A HMONG CHILD, HER AMERICAN DOCTORS AND THE COLLISION OF TWO CULTURES; DISTRICT MEETING: WASHINGTON HEALTH PROFESSIONAL SERVICES PROGRAM: SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER; TRANSGENDER TOOLBOX: BASIC TOOLS TO PROVIDE OPTIMAL CARE, ANNUAL GALA. TOTAL SERVED AT CONFERENCES/EVENTS: 245 PERSONS. PUBLISHED AND DISTRIBUTED 5,000 COPIES OF NEWSLETTER THREE TIMES A YEAR. PUBLISHED MONTHLY EMAIL NEWSLETTER. IMPLEMENTED A NURSING STUDENT INVOLVEMENT PROJECT AT THE THIRTEEN AREA SCHOOLS OF NURSING. DISTRIBUTED EIGHTEEN SCHOLARSHIPS OF $3,000 EACH TOTALING $54,000 FOR STUDENT NURSES.


COMMUNITY HEALTH INVOLVEMENT: PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS ($100-$8,000 EACH; TOTAL $17,000). EMPHASIS WAS ON HELPING THE HOMELESS AND PROVIDING SUPPORT THROUGHOUT KING COUNTY: ASIAN COUNSELING & REFERRAL SERVICE, ATLANTIC STREET CENTER, CENTRAL AREA SENIOR CENTER, FARE START, FRIENDS OF YOUTH, HEROES FOR HOMELESS, MARKET FOUNDATION, MARY MAHONEY PROFESSIONAL NURSES ORGANIZATION, NEW BEGINNINGS, NEW HORIZONS, NOEL HOUSE, NURSING STUDENTS OF WASHINGTON STATE, REAL CHANGE, RENTON AREA YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES, ROOTS, SAFE CROSSINGS, SEATTLE/KING COUNTY COALITION ON HOMELESSNESS/PROJECT COOL, SOPHIA WAY, TEEN FEED, UNION GOSPEL MISSION, UW SON DAWGS (DIVERSITY CAMP), WASHINGTON WOMEN IN NEED, AND YOUTH CARE. PROVIDED COMMUNITY GRANTS TO MEMBERS: TOTAL $5,382. ERIKA FARDIG, $1,920 FOR SEASONAL INFLUENZA VOUCHERS FOR UNINSURED PATIENTS. AKIKO CHAU, $1,250 FOR MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING TRAINING FOR PUBLIC HEALTH NURSES; DONNA MAIER, $1,223 FOR SAFE SLEEP SACK EVENT FOR PUBLIC HEALTH CLIENTS; DONNA MAIER, $989 FOR MULTI-USE SAFETY STRAPS FOR PUBLIC HEALTH CLIENTS.
