OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE A DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT FOR HISPANIC PROFESSIONALS TO THRIVE BY FOSTERING LEADERSHIP, MENTORING, EDUCATION, NETWORKING, AND NEW INITIATIVES THAT SUPPORT HISPANICS AND HISPANIC BUSINESSES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

THE MISSION OF HPGM IS TO PROMOTE HISPANIC ADVANCEMENT IN THE MILWAUKEE AREA BY CONNECTING AND UNITING HISPANIC PROFESSIONALS, STUDENTS AND THE COMMUNITY WITH RICH HERITAGE, STRONG LEADERSHIP, AND IMPACTFUL INITIATIVES. HPGM SERVES MORE THAN 2,200 STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS ANNUALLY BY PROVIDING ACCESS TO JOBS AND INTERNSHIPS, SCHOLARSHIPS, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND MENTORING OPPORTUNITIES. WE WORK WITH 36 CORPORATIONS, 8 INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION, AND MORE THAN 50 COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO BREAK DOWN BARRIERS AND EMPOWER DIVERSE LEADERS.


THE HPGM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WAS CREATED TO ADDRESS THE ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL BARRIERS THAT MANY HISPANIC AND LATINO STUDENTS FACE IN THE PURSUIT OF POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION OR TRAINING. THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM STRIVES TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATION, RETENTION, AND GRADUATION OF LATINO AND HISPANIC STUDENTS. THE SCHOLARSHIP IS OPEN TO STUDENTS PURSUING TWO-YEAR, UNDERGRADUATE, AND ADVANCED DEGREES IN WISCONSIN.EVERY YEAR, OUR HIGHER EDUCATION PARTNERS AND SCHOLARSHIP SPONSORS DEMONSTRATE THEIR COMMITMENT TO LATINO STUDENTS BY MATCHING SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS 1:1. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SIX MILWAUKEE-AREA INSTITUTIONS, WHO MATCH HPGM DESIGNATED SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS, APPROXIMATELY 20 SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SPRING SEMESTER..
