Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
THE ACN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM CELEBRATED A SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL YEAR. WE'VE FOSTERED CONNECTIONS BETWEEN YOUNG INDIVIDUALS FROM VARIOUS AFRICAN COMMUNITIES AND VALUABLE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, SIGNIFICANTLY CONTRIBUTING TO THEIR EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. A TOTAL OF 11 BUSINESSES JOINED OUR INITIATIVE, WITH ANOTHER 11 IN DISCUSSIONS, ALL EAGER TO WORK WITH ACN INTERNS. WE EXCEEDED OUR INTERNSHIP MATCH GOAL BY SUCCESSFULLY PAIRING 7 YOUTHS WITH EMPLOYERS THAT ALIGN WITH THEIR FIELD OF INTEREST, THANKS TO OUR SYSTEMIZED MATCHING PROCESS. MOREOVER, WE'VE BOLSTERED OUR MENTORSHIP EFFORTS BY PAIRING EACH INTERN WITH SEASONED PROFESSIONALS AND ORGANIZED WORKSHOPS TO ENHANCE RIGHTS EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. OUR INTERNS PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN EXECUTING 3 COMMUNITY SESSIONS ON RIGHTS EDUCATION, ENGAGING OVER 150 COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND PROMOTING INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING. ADDITIONALLY, WE'VE IDENTIFIED A CRUCIAL DEMOGRAPHIC - INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS REQUIRING INTERNSHIPS FOR GRADUATION - AND ARE MAKING STRIDES TO ADDRESS THEIR NEEDS. OUR PLANS FOR GROWTH INCLUDE ONBOARDING 5 NEW EMPLOYERS AND EXPANDING OUR PROGRAM. CHALLENGES SUCH AS INITIAL BUSINESS HESITANCY AND THE HIGH DEMAND FROM COLLEGE STUDENTS WERE MET WITH SOLUTIONS LIKE ENHANCED ORIENTATION AND TIME MANAGEMENT WORKSHOPS.
