WHATCOM INTERGENERATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR STAFF, MENTORS, AND STUDENTS. THE GOAL IS TO HELP CREATE A CULTURE OF COMPASSION AND INCLUSION IN THIS NEW RACIALLY, GENDER, AND SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY DIVERSE GROUP. THE NEW SCHOOL WELCOMED FIFTY YOUTH FOR EQUINE ASSISTED EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING. THE EACH SPENT FROM NINE HOURS (ADULTS) TO FIFTEEN HOURS (YOUTH) IN THE SUMMER AND FALL. THEY PRACTICE LEADERSHIP, SELF AND OTHER AWARENESS, AND TEAM BUILDING AT THE FARM.
SCHOOL VISITS TO LUMMI NATION WITH HORSES, GOATS, AND SMALL ANIMALS. ONE WEEK OF DAYCAMP FOR UP TO 8 STUDENTS.
INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY THERAPEUTIC EQUINE ASSISTED SESSIONS. FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS COME TO THE FARM FOR INDIVIDUAL, GROUP, OR DAY CAMP SESSIONS. WE FACILITATE THE CREATION OF MUTUALLY RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS BASED ON RESPECT, CLEAR COMMUNICATION, TRUST BUILDING AND GETTING ONES NEEDS MET IN HEALTHY WAYS.
