IRRF HAS CREATED SEVERAL EVENTS TO WELCOME TRIBAL MEMBERS ONTO THE P'SQUOSA HOMELANDS AND LEARN ABOUT TRADITIONAL TEACHINGS. AS WELL AS ATTENDING LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS EVENTS TO DISCUSS IRRF. IRRF IS IN THE PROCESS OF COLLECTION FUNDS TO REPURCHASE TRIBAL LANDS. A. INDIAN HEMP FIELD TRIP: WE HAVE PARTNERED WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO GAIN ACCESS TO PARTICULAR LAND TO GATHER INDIAN HEMP (MATERIAL TRADITIONALLY USED FOR BASKETWEAVING) AND HAD ELDERS, BASKET WEAVERS THERE TO TEACH HOW TO GATHER AND PROCESS MATERIALS. WE PROVIDED AUTHENTIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT TRADITIONAL NATIVE AMERICAN PRACTICES. WE ARE WELCOMING A PRESENCE OF ALL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES. INDIAN HEMP GATHERING INCREASED FROM 40 PEOPLE TO 72 THIS YEAR. AGES RANGED FROM 1-80. B. THROUGH OUR PARTNERING WE ALSO GAINED ACCESS TO HUCKLEBERRIES. HUCKLEBERRY CAMP HAD 50 ATTENDEES, WITH AGES 1-80. THE CAMP ATTENDEES GATHERED AND PRACTICED CULTURAL ACTIVITIES WHILE BEING IN COMMUNITY WITH OTHER INDIGENOUS PEOPLES. C. HELD A LANGUAGE CLASS AND DINNER THROUGH A SERIES OF TWO INTRODUCTORY ONLINE LANGUAGE CLASSES COVERING THE BASICS OF THE WENATCHI LANGUAGE. A CULMINATION DINNER WAS HELD FOR THE PARTICIPANTS WHERE THEY COULD BE IN COMMUNITY AND PRACTICE THE LESSONS LEARNED DURING CLASS.
