THE INTENT OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCES IS TO ESTABLISH A WWII THEMED MUSEUM. THE MUSEUM WOULD HAVE BOTH FLYING AND STATIC AIRCRAFT, ALONG WITH AN INTERACTIVE MUSEUM. THE BUILDING WILL HOUSE THE MUSEUM OFFICES, ARCHIVES AND MUSEUM LIBRARY. THE VISION FOR THE MUSEUM "HANDS ON" WORKING, FLYING, AND TEACHING MUSEUM WITH THE GOAL TO EDUCATE, COMMEMORATE, ENGAGE AND INSPIRE VISITORS. IN SEPTEMBER 2021, THE MUSEUM BRIEFED TOOELE COUNTY ABOUT THE VISION FOR WENDOVER, AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. THE COUNTY PROMISED AN ANSWER TO THE MUSEUM NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 2021; HOWEVER, THE MUSEUM HAS NEVER RECEIVED A FINAL DETERMINATION FROM TOOELE COUNTY. AFTER UNANSWERED PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS, THE MUSEUM WAS UNABLE TO ESTABLISH A WORKING MUSEUM AT WENDOVER, UTAH. WITHOUT A RESPONSE FROM TOOELE COUNTY THE MUSEUM HAS NOT FINALIZED THE 501(C)(3) PAPERWORK WITH THE IRS; THE MUSEUM REMAINS IN AN APPLICATION PENDING STATUS.
