ADVANCE THE SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND PRACTICE OF MEDICAL TOXICOLOGY BY FOSTERING THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICAL TOXICOLOGY IN ITS PROVISION OF EMERGENCY, CONSULTATION, FORENSIC, LEGAL, COMMUNITY, AND INDUSTRIAL SERVICES.

TOXIC-ACMT TOXICOLOGY INVESTIGATORS CONSORTIUM, KNOWN AS "TOXIC", IS A NETWORK OF MEDICAL TOXICOLOGISTS CREATED TO PROMOTE MULTI-CENTER RESEARCH IN MEDICAL TOXICOLOGY AND TO ENABLE THE NATIONWIDE COLLECTION OF IMPORTANT TOXICOLOGICAL DATA FROM PATIENTS AT THE BEDSIDE.


PROVIDE MEDICAL TOXICOLOGY EXPERTISE AND TRAINING TO COMMUNITIES IN SUPPORT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, OFFICE OF HEALTH AFFAIRS, CHEMICAL DEFENSE PROGRAM (DHS/OHA/CDP) AND CHEMICAL SECURITY ANALYSTS CENTER (DHS/CSAC).


SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (SAMHSA)- FRONTLINE TRAINING FOR EMERGENCY MEDICINE RESIDENTS AND MEDICAL TOXICOLOGY FELLOWS TO EFFECTIVELY SCREEN, ASSESS, AND TREAT PATIENTS WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER.


PROVIDED A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS AROUND THE UNITED STATES TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF MEDICAL TOXICOLOGISTS, MEDICAL TOXICOLOGISTS-IN-TRAINING, CLINICAL TOXICOLOGISTS, POISON SPECIALISTS, EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS, RESEARCHERS, FORENSIC SPECIALISTS, LABORATORY TECHNICIANS, OTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIAL AND SCIENTISTS WHO DEAL WITH POISONED PATIENTS OR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH.
