OUR MISSION IS TO INCREASE ACCESS TO FOOD ACROSS UTAH THROUGH ADVOCACY, OUTREACH, AND EDUCATION. UTAHNS AGAINST HUNGER IS UTAHS ONLY STATE-WIDE ANTI-HUNGER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WORKING ON PUBLIC POLICY AND ADVOCACY FOR FEDERAL NUTRITION PROGRAMS.

RECENT SNAP AND CHILD NUTRITION ACTIVITIES: STATE LEGISLATURE 2023: - ADVOCATED FOR 800,000 IN ONE-TIME FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRIES. ADMINISTRATIVE ADVOCACY: -FACILITATED 4 ADVOCATE MEETINGS WITH DWS/DHHS STAFF. TOPICS INCLUDED PHONE WAIT TIMES, POLICY UPDATES AND OTHER ACCESS ISSUES. COLLEGE STUDENT FOOD ACCESS AND FOOD INSECURITY -WORKED WITH UTAH'S HIGHER EDUCATION BASIC NEEDS COALITION TO STRATEGIZE ON HOW TO ADDRESS COLLEGE HUNGER. CHILD NUTRITION: -ORGANIZED WITH OTHER ADVOCATES TO WORK WITH REP CLANCY ON HEALTHY SCHOOL MEALS FOR ALL IN THE 2024.
