ADULT BUSINESS SHOWERSTHE BUSINESS SHOWER IS A TWO-DAY ANNUAL CELEBRATION AND BROAD NETWORKING EVENT. THE EVENT IS THE CULMINATION OF SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF 16 WEEKS OF HIGH-IMPACT, VIRTUAL BUSINESS TRAINING. 80 (+) FINALISTS COMPETE FOR 12 RESOURCE AWARDS. A BUSINESS PLAN AND PITCH PRESENTATION OF THE BUSINESS IDEA IS REQUIRED TO QUALIFY FOR A BUSINESS SHOWER. FINALISTS ARE SCORED AND THE TOP 12 ARE SELECTED AS HONOREES. HONOREES ARE GIFTED WITH INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC GIFTS, MONETARY INCENTIVES IF AVAILABLE, MARKETING SERVICES, ENTITY APPLICATION FILING FEES AND MORE. THOSE WHO DONT RECEIVE A BUSINESS SHOWER, STILL END WITH A BUSINESS PLAN. YOUTH BUSINESS SHOWERSWE SUPPORT YOUTH IN GRADES 8TH-12TH WHO HAVE A PASSION AND DESIRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP. ALTHOUGH THE CURRICULUM IS TAILORED TO THE ACADEMIC AND DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS OF YOUTH, THE RIGOR OF THE PROGRAM CONTENT PROVIDES A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM TO ADEQUATELY PREPARE YOUTH FOR A REALISTIC PICTURE OF WHAT IT MEANS TO RUN THEIR OWN BUSINESSES. YOUTH PARTICIPANTS, LIKE THE ADULTS, RECEIVE A FULL 12 WEEKS OF HIGH IMPACT TRAINING GEARED TOWARDS ASSISTING THEM WITH WRITING A BUSINESS PLAN AND PREPARING THEM TO PITCH THEIR BUSINESS IDEAS WITH CONFIDENCE. MOREOVER, YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS RECEIVE FOLLOW-UP TRAINING TO ENGAGE THEM IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THEIR BUSINESS PLANS.THE ANNUAL TRAILBLAZER AWARD OF SERVICETHE ANNUAL TRAILBLAZER AWARD OF SERVICE IS PROVIDED FOR A DEDICATED SENIOR WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY WHO HAS SHOWN A SUSTAINED COMMITMENT TO SUPPORTING THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY THROUGH THEIR SUPPORT OR DIRECT ENTREPRENEURIAL EFFORTS. HONOREES MUST RESIDE IN MECKLENBURG COUNTY. BUSINESS SHOWERS HONORS TRAILBLAZERS EACH YEAR DURING THE ANNUAL BUSINESS SHOWERS AND NETWORKING EVENT. HERO SERVICE AWARD THE ANNUAL HERO SERVICE AWARD RECOGNIZES MEMBERS OF OUR SERVICE COMMUNITY WHO HAVE SHOWN A DEDICATION TO SERVING AND PROTECTING AT AN EXEMPLARY LEVEL IN OUR COMMUNITY.
