WILLIAMSTON THEATRE IS A PROFESSIONAL REGIONAL THEATRE THAT OFFERS A DIVERSE ARRAY OF INTIMATE STORYTELLING EXPERIENCES TO ENTERTAIN, BUILD A SENSE OF BELONGING AND FOSTER EMPATHY FOR THE HUMAN JOURNEY. THE THEATRE'S CORE VALUES ARE: EXCELLENCE-TO CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE THAT EMPOWERS ARTISTS TO DO THEIR FINEST WORK. INCLUSION-COMMITMENT TO AN ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS DIVERSITY, OPENNESS, AND INTEGRITY. THERE IS RESPECT FOR VARIED BACKGROUNDS AND LIFE EXPERIENCE. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 8/31/23, THE ORGANIZATION MOUNTED SIX FULL PRODUCTIONS INCLUDING THREE WORLD PREMIERS OF NEW PLAYS. A TOTAL OF 8,623 PATRONS ATTENDED PERFORMANCES. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION OFFERED SEVERAL FREE PLAY READINGS. THESE ACTIVITIES WERE IN SUPPORT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION. COMMUNITY SUPPORT REMAINED STRONG WITH A TOTAL OF 304,076 IN CONTRIBUTIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS, GRANTING ORGANIZATIONS AND CORPORATIONS. COVID-19 OPERATING PROTOCALLS WERE CONTINUALLY AMENDED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR DUE TO THE EVOLVING COVID-19 VIRUS. POLICIES REFLECTED BEST PRACTICES AS ADVISED BY THE CDC AND STATE AND COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTS.
