THE MISSION OF THE COASTAL PLAIN CONSERVANCY IS TO ACQUIRE, PRESERVE AND PROTECT LANDS OF THE COASTAL PLAIN REGION FOR THE CONSERVATION AND STEWARDSHIP OF NATURAL, HISTORIC, CULTURAL AND SCENIC RESOURCES FOR THE EDUCATION AND ENJOYMENT OF PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS.

THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY FOCUS DURING THE YEAR WAS ON ITS NATIVE SEED PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM WAS RESEARCHED AT THE KAYOUCHEE SEED BLOCK IN COORDINATION WITH THE LOUISIANA PLANT INITIATIVE, WHICH WAS CO-SPONSORED BY THE ORGANIZATION, USDA-NRCS, MCNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY AND USGS-NWRC.
