CHRISTIAN CARE COTTONWOOD INC.'S EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO OFFER GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIZED HOUSING TO SENIORS AGED 62 YEARS AND OLDER. WITH AN AVERAGE AGE OF 76 YEARS OLD, OUR INDEPENDENT LIVING COMMUNITY RESIDENTS REMAIN ACTIVE SOCIALLY AND PHYSICALLY. RESIDENTS TYPICALLY PAY 30% OF THEIR INCOME FOR RENT AND UTILITIES. RESIDENTS RECEIVE AN EMERGENCY CALL SYSTEM IN ADDITION TO THEIR APARTMENT; A SERVICE COORDINATOR IS AVAILABLE TO HELP THEM PROCURE COMMUNITY SERVICES SUCH AS MEALS ON WHEELS, TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, AND MAKE MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. WE OFFER EDUCATION TO SENIORS, FAMILIES AND FRIENDS REGARDING THE AGING PROCESS. CHRISTIAN CARE IS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN QUALITY INITIATIVES THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE, AND ETHICAL AGING SERVICES IN ASSOCIATION WITH LEADING AGE AND THE HEALTH SERVICES ADVISORY GROUP (HSAG). AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2020, THE ORGANIZATION'S OCCUPANCY WAS REDUCED TO ZERO TO POSITION THE PROPERTY TO UNDERGO A SIGNIFICANT REHABILITATION PROJECT. THE FUNDING FOR THIS PROJECT WILL COME FROM THE RAD FOR PRAC.EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 27, 2022, CHRISTIAN CARE COTTONWOOD AND CHRISTIAN CARE COTTONWOOD III-VIII WERE MERGED INTO CHRISTIAN HOUSING-COTTONWOOD,INC AND A LOAN WAS SECURED TO FUND UPGRADES TO THE BUILDINGS. THE SURVIVING ENTITY, CHRISTIAN HOUSING-COTTONWOOD, INC., WILL NOW BE ABLE TO MANAGE A SINGLE SECTION 8 PROJECT BASED RENTAL ASSISTANCE CONTRACT COVERING ALL OF THE UNITS PREVIOUSLY UNDER SEPERATE CONTRACTS WHICH WILL RESULT IN OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES.FOUNDED IN 1979, THE CHRISTIAN CARE COMPANIES BEGAN WITH 96 UNITS OF SUBSIDIZED HOUSING AND A 60-BED NURSING CENTER ON THE PHOENIX CAMPUS. THE NURSING CENTER CORNERSTONE QUOTES PSALM 71:9, CAST ME NOT OFF IN THE TIME OF OLD AGE; FORSAKE ME NOT WHEN MY STRENGTH FAILETH. THE ORGANIZATION IS ONE OF 24 RELATED TAX EXEMPT CHRISTIAN CARE COMPANIES WHO PROVIDE HOUSING, HOSPITALITY AND HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR VERY-LOW-TO-MIDDLE INCOME ARIZONA SENIORS. THE CHRISTIAN CARE COMPANIES WERE FOUNDED BY THE NONDENOMINATIONAL CHRISTIAN CHURCHES OF ARIZONA AND ARE GOVERNED BY CORPORATE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS. AT SEPTEMBER 26, 2022, THE CHRISTIAN CARE COMPANIES OWN AND OPERATE 1,990 UNITS OF MIDDLE-INCOME, MARKET-RATE INDEPENDENT, ASSISTED, AND MEMORY CARE UNITS FOR SENIORS ON SIX CAMPUSES, 338 UNITS OF SUBSIDIZED HOUSING, AND A 68-BED HEALTH CENTER. IN ADDITION, WE PROVIDE ASSISTED LIVING SERVICES TO UP TO 106 RESIDENTS OF OUR SUBSIDIZED HOUSING.BENEFITS OF BEING PART OF A CHRISTIAN CARE COMMUNITY TYPICALLY INCLUDE SHARED HOUSEKEEPING; MAINTENANCE AND SECURITY SERVICES, INCLUDING CALL BUTTON MONITORING; ACCESS TO PRIVATE SCHEDULED TRANSPORTATION; AND COMPUTER LABS WITH HIGH-SPEED INTERNET. RESIDENTS TYPICALLY HAVE ENTREE TO ON-CAMPUS FOOD SERVICE VENUES, ENTERTAINING ACTIVITY PROGRAMS, HEALTH & WELLNESS OPPORTUNITIES AND CHAPLAINCY SERVICES.
