THIS ORGANIZATION PROVIDED HOUSING TO ELDERLY PERSONS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH THE OPERATION OF A 47-UNIT HUD 202 MULTIFAMILY HOUSING COMMUNITY IN SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA. THIS ORGANIZATION PROVIDED DECENT, SAFE, SANITARY AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO 54 RESIDENTS: 7% BETWEEN THE AGES 18-61 (NON-ELDERLY PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES), 74% BETWEEN THE AGES 62-81, 19% BETWEEN THE AGES 82-93 AND 0% 94+. ARIZONA RETIREMENT HOMES EMPLOYED A SERVICE COORDINATOR WHO ASSISTED RESIDENTS WITH OBTAINING A VARIETY OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND REFERRALS. IN 2022, THIS COMMUNITY REMAINED IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND HAD LIMITED SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. RESIDENTS CONTINUED SHOWING MORE INTEREST IN EXERCISE, RENEWING HEALTH GOALS AND WEIGHT LOSS (FROM PANDEMIC ISOLATION AND CONSEQUENTIAL SEDENTARY LIVING) AND REENGAGING IN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES LIKE GAMES AND COFFEE HOUR. RESIDENTS ALSO UTILIZED OVER-THE-PHONE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE NEARBY GRANITE REEF SENIOR CENTER OPERATED BY THE CITY OF SCOTTSDALE.
