Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

OVER THE PAST CENTURY, THE WORLD HAS SEEN AN EXTRAORDINARY INCREASE IN THE GLOBAL CONSUMPTION OF FOSSIL FUELS AND THE CONSEQUENT EMISSION OF GREENHOUSE GASES; THE EFFECTS OF THIS CHANGE ARE BOTH FAMILIAR AND DEVASTATING. TO REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS, MANUFACTURERS AND PRODUCERS IN INDUSTRIES WORLDWIDE NEED TO ADOPT CLEAN, ECONOMICALLY EFFICIENT ALTERNATIVES TO FOSSIL FUELS. THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS HIGH-POTENTIAL DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS AND EARLY ADOPTION OF TRANSFORMATIONAL EMISSIONS REDUCTION TECHNOLOGIES BY PROVIDING FUNDING FOR THESE PROJECTS AT CRITICAL PHASES IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT. TO DATE, THE FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON FUNDING THE DEVELOPMENT AND DEMONSTRATION OF THREE SPECIFIC AREAS: -SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL - COMMERCIALLY VIABLE METHODS OF PRODUCING AVIATION FUEL FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN GREENHOUSE GAS-EMITTING KEROSENE -GREEN HYDROGEN - COMMERCIALLY VIABLE METHODS OF PRODUCING HYDROGEN FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN CARBON-EMITTING HYDROCARBONS -DIRECT AIR CAPTURE - THE PROCESS OF EXTRACTING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM THE AMBIENT AIR AND EITHER SEQUESTERING IT OR USING IT
