TRANSLASH IS A CROSS-PLATFORM JOUNALISM, PERSONAL STORYTELLING AND NARRATIVE MEDIA ORGANIZATION WHICH EMBEDS NEW NARRATIVES OF TRANSGENDER PEOPLE OF COLOR INTO PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS, THEREBY HELPING TO DECREASE CULTURAL HOSTILITY TOWARDS THIS COMMUNITY-THE MOST MARGINALIZED OF THE MARGINALIZED-AND SAVE LIVES.WE DO SO THROUGH VIDEO, DOCUMENTARY, PODCAST, DIGITAL, SOCIAL MEDIA AND NEWSLETTER CONTENT.

NEW ACTIVITIES : IN CY 2021 WE LAUNCHED A YEAR-LONG, LIMITED-SERIES PODCAST FOCUSED ON THE PLIGHT OF TRANS PEOPLE FACING THE ANTI-TRANS, LEGISLATIVE ONSLAUGHT IN THE SOUTH AND PLAINS STATES CALLED THE ANTI-TRANS HATE MACHINE: A PLOT AGAINST EQUALITY. THE ANTI-TRANS HATE MACHINE: A PLOT AGAINST EQUALITY HAS BEEN USED BY ACTIVISTS AND LEGISLATORS TO UNDERSTAND THE DRIVERS OF ANTI-TRANS LEGISLATION ACROSS THE COUNTRY. WE ALSO LAUNCHED, ALSO IN JUNE, A NEW EDITION OF THE TRANSLASH ZINE WHICH FOCUSED ON THE BLACK TRANS LIBERATION AGENDA. MOREOVER THE REGULAR TRANSLASH PODCAST WITH IMARA JONES COMPLETED ITS FIRST FULL YEAR OF PRODUCTION.
METRICS : IN 2021 TRANSLASH REACHED NEARLY 1,000,000 ENGAGEMENTS WITH OUR CONTENT EACH MONTH. ANOTHER KEY METRIC IS THE DEGREE TO WHICH WE ARE HAVING AN IMPACT ON THE WIDER CONVERSATION ABOUT TRANS ISSUES. THAT'S WHY ARTICLES AND SEGMENTS ABOUT OUR WORK IN THE GUARDIAN, TIME MAGAZINE, NBC, MSNBC, NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO AND OTHERS THROUGHOUT 2021 ARE IMPORTANT TOUCHSTONES TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF OUR WORK.
