VIDEOGRAPHY PROGRAM - OUR VIDEOGRAPHY WORK CAPTURES OUR LOCAL EXPERIENCES AND HAS FEATURED SHORT FORM INTERVIEW, COVERAGE OF ACTIONS AND LONGER FORM COLLABORATIONS WITH ORGANIZATION INCLUDING PLANNNED PARENTHOOD OF SOUTH TEXAS AND THE NATIONAL LATINA INSTITUTE FOR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH.


MOVEMENT JOURNALISM - TRUCHAS FOCUS ON MOVEMENT JOURNALISM FOSTERS THE VOICES OF LOCAL GRASSROOTS LEADERS AND RGV RESIDENTS BY PROVIDING EDITORIAL SUPPORT, A PLATFORM TO SHARE THEIR WRITING AND EQUITABLE PAYMENT FOR THEIR WORK. TRUCHA HAS AN OPEN PITCH PROCESS AND WELCOMES SUBMISSIONS FOR SHORT AND LONGFORM ARTICLES FROM LOCALS. WE ALSO WORK WITH GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS TO AMPLIFY THEIR MESSAGING AND PROVIDE AN ON THE GROUND ALTERNATIVE PROGRESSIVE PERSPECTIVE TO OUR AUDIENCE. TRUCHA STAFF FILLS IN WITH ADDITIONAL EDITORIAL SUPPORT WITH FEATURED ARTICLES AND INTERVIEWS. THE ISSUES WE PRIORITIZE INCLUDE IMMIGRATION REFORM, ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES, LGBTQI+ LIBERATION, ABORTION AND REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE.


CULTURAL PROGRAM - OUR CULTURAL WORK SUPPORTS LOCAL ARTISTS AND CONNECTS THEM TO GRASSROOTS MOVEMENTS. SOME EXAMPLES OF OUR CREATIVE EFFORTS INCLUDE THE PROTECT TRANS YOUTH CAMPAIGN IN SUPPORT AND COLLABORATION WITH GENTEX, THE RGV TRANS CLOSET AND STEP. AS AN ORGANIZATION WE SEEK TO NOT ONLY EMBODY COMMUNITY AWARENESS BUT TO JOYFULLY AND CREATIVELY ACT UPON IT FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR COMMUNITY, OUR LAND, OUR CULTURE AND OUR ANCESTORS.
