TO FACILITATE ACCESS TO RECOVERY FOR ANYONE ENGAGING IN SUBSTANCE MISUSE THROUGH PEER SUPPORT, RESOURCE CONNECTION, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY.

A PEER SPECIALIST IS AN INDIVIDUAL WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE COUPLED WITH EDUCATION, A SUPERVISED INTERNSHIP AND SUCCESSFUL PASSING OF A STATE EXAM TO GAIN CERTIFICATION. PEER SPECIALISTS IN OUR AGENCY PROVIDE SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH A HISTORY OF SUBSTANCE MISUSE OR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AS THEY WALK THEIR OWN CHOSEN PATH OF RECOVERY. ADDITIONALLY, PEER SPECIALISTS PROVIDE EITHER ASSISTANCE WITH OR CONNECTIONS WITH OTHERS THAT PROVIDE SHELTER OR HOUSING, NUTRITIOUS FOOD, TRANSPORTATION, CLOTHING, GOVERNMENT BENEFITS, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, VOCATIONAL RESOURCES, MEDICAL TREATMENT AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH THERAPISTS. WE ADDRESS LIFE ISSUES IN A GROUP SETTING IN MULTIPLE TREATMENT CENTERS AS WELL AS ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS.


WORKING WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA, WE PROVIDE FREE NARCAN (NALOXONE HCI) NASAL SPRAY TO ANY ADULT INDIVIDUAL OR PUBLIC/PRIVATE ENTITY WITH ADULT MEMBERS IN THE COUNTIES OF MIAMI-DADE OR MONROE. WE WILL ALSO PROVIDE A NO COST TRAINING ON RECOGNITION OF OVERDOSE AND PROPER USE OF NARCAN TO ORGANIZATIONS REQUESTING THE SERVICE. ALL DISTRIBUTION COSTS AND TRAINING ARE ABSORBED BY MRC.


PROJECT REBIRTH - WE PROVIDE ACCESS TO RECOVERY RESOURCES THROUGH PEER SUPPORT FOR VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS WHO HAVE A HISTORY OF SUBSTANCE MISUSE OR MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES. RESOURCES MAY INCLUDE CONNECTIONS FOR HOUSING, TREATMENT, THERAPY, MATERIAL NECESSITIES, EDUCATION AND/OR ADVOCACY. WE ALSO HELP THE VETERANS NAVIGATE THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION TO RECEIVE BOTH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES IN A TIMELY MANNER.
