MEMBERSHIP:NIVA MEMBERS REPRESENT THE SMALL BUSINESSES, NON-PROFITS, AND PUBLICLY-OWNED SPACES THAT MAKE UP MOST OF THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT ECOSYSTEM. NIVA OFFERS A RANGE OF VALUABLE MEMBER SERVICES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT AND UPLIFT ITS COMMUNITY OF NEARLY 1,500 MEMBERS. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE A PLATFORM FOR NETWORKING AND KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE WITHIN THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, MONTHLY TOWN HALL MEETINGS, EXCLUSIVE PARTNER DISCOUNTS, AND ADVOCACY ON THE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LEVELS. NIVA ALSO HAS A GROUP DISCOUNT PROGRAM TO LEVERAGE THE COLLECTIVE BUYING POWER OF OUR MEMBERS TO PROVIDE DISCOUNTS ON EVERY-DAY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES USED BY OUR MEMBERS . NIVA AIMS TO PROVIDE EVERY MEMBER THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO THRIVE, WHICH IN TURN CONTRIBUTES TO THE OVERALL SUCCESS OF OUR SECTOR AND THE EVOLVING NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY.
ADVOCACY:NIVA ENGAGES WITH CONGRESS, THE WHITE HOUSE, AND FEDERAL AGENCIES ON BEHALF OF THE INDEPENDENT LIVE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY TO UPLIFT AND PROTECT THE INTERESTS OF OUR MEMBERS. SPECIFICALLY, TO PROTECT FANS AND ARTISTS FROM SPECULATIVE TICKETS, DECEPTIVE MARKETING, AND HIDDEN COSTS. NIVA CREATED THE "FIX THE TIX COALITION," A BROAD COALITION OF LIVE EVENT INDUSTRY ORGANIZATIONS AND PROFESSIONALS FORMED TO COLLECTIVELY ADVOCATE FOR A TICKETING EXPERIENCE BETTER THAN THE NIGHTMARE MANY FANS AND ARTISTS CURRENTLY NAVIGATE. NIVA EMPOWERS ITS CHAPTERS AND MEMBERS WITH RESOURCES, CONTACTS, AND TRACKING TOOLS TO ENGAGE WITH STATE AND LOCAL OFFICIALS AND STAKEHOLDERS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY TO UPLIFT AND ADVOCATE FOR INDEPENDENT LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. NIVA'S STATE AND LOCAL WORK PROVIDES RESOURCES AND MODEL ADVOCACY STRATEGIES FOR LIVE ENTERTAINMENT-FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. NIVA EMPOWERS ITS MEMBERS TO ADVOCATE ON THE LOCAL AND STATE LEVEL FOR THE POLICIES THAT MATTER MOST TO THEM. NIVA HAS LAUNCHED A STATE POLICY TRACKING PROGRAM WHICH WILL ALLOW ANY MEMBER TO SEARCH, TRACK, AND RECEIVE TIMELY NOTIFICATIONS ABOUT STATE LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS. MEMBERS ALSO HAVE ACCESS TO A DATABASE OF EVERY STATE ELECTED OFFICIAL AND THEIR STAFF THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.
CONFERENCE:NIVA'S INAUGURAL CONFERENCE TOOK PLACE IN JULY 2022. NIVA'S FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE - NIVA '22 - BROUGHT OVER 600 MEMBERS TOGETHER FROM THE INDEPENDENT LIVE CONCERT, COMEDY, PROMOTER AND FESTIVAL INDUSTRY. THE TWO-DAY CONFERENCE TOOK PLACE IN CLEVELAND JULY 11TH AND 12TH ACROSS MULTIPLE NIVA MEMBER VENUES AND INCLUDED THE FIRST-EVER INDEPENDENT AWARDS FORMAL (INDEPENDENT AF) AT THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM. THE NIVA'22 CONFERENCE PROVIDED ITS DIVERSE MEMBERS, AFFILIATES, AND PARTNERS WITH TWO DAYS OF PROGRAMMING, EDUCATION, NETWORKING AND ENTERTAINMENT. SESSION TOPICS INCLUDED MARKETING, NEW INDUSTRY PARADIGMS, FESTIVALS, DIVERSITY, MENTAL HEALTH, SAFETY, AND INSURANCE. IN SPRING 2023, NIVA BEGAN PLANNING AND PREPARATIONS FOR OUR SECOND CONFERENCE. NIVA '23 TOOK PLACE IN JULY 2023 IN WASHINGTON DC. THE EVENT TOOK PLACE OVER 3 DAYS AND INCLUDED 1,065 REGISTRANTS, OVER 100 SPEAKERS, AND 48 EVENTS AT 11 LOCAL VENUES. IMPORTANT TOPICS DISCUSSED INCLUDED INDUSTRY DIVERSITY, MENTAL HEALTH, SAFETY, INSURANCE, ECONOMIC IMPACT OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, BOOKING, ARTIST DEVELOPMENT, TICKETING, AND THE ROLE OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT IN POLICYMAKING. ALSO AS PART OF THE CONFERENCE, NIVA DELIVERED ITS FIRST EVER ADVOCACY "FLY-IN", WITH OPENING REMARKS FROM SENATOR CORNYN AND SENATOR KLOBUCHAR.
