THE NEW MEXICO COALITION TO END HOMELESSNESS WORKS WITH OVER 70 MEMBER AGENCIES TOWARD THE GOAL OF ENDING HOMELESSNESS IN NEW MEXICO. THIS YEAR NMCEH CONTINUED TO RESPOND TO THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC. IN COOPERATION WITH THE CITY OF SANTA FE, NMCEH IS OPERATING CONSUELO'S PLACE, A SHELTER FOR PEOPLE RECOVERING FROM COVID-19 IN SEPARATE APARTMENTS AND FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS WHO NEED NON-CONGREGATE SHELTER IN A DORMITORY SETTING TO STAY SAFE. NMCEH ALSO ACTED AS FISCAL AGENT FOR THE ESPANOLA PATHWAYS SHELTER, A NEW EMERGENCY SHELTER IN THE NORTHERN NEW MEXICO CITY OF ESPANOLA. NMCEH COORDINATES THE FEDERAL HOMELESS ASSISTANCE GRANTS FOR THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO AND THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE. NMCEH ALSO OPERATES THE HOMELESS MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM WHERE GOVERNMENT FUNDED AGENCIES REPORT ON SERVICES RENDERED TO PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS AND NMCEH OPERATES A STATEWIDE COORDINATED ENTRY SYSTEM DESIGNED TO CONNECT PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS WITH HOUSING OPTIONS. NMCEH ADVOCATES FOR IMPROVED GOVERNMENT RESPONSES TO HOMELESSNESS.
