EXHIBITIONS: THROUGHOUT ITS EXHIBITIONS PROGRAM SITE SANTA FE EXPLORES A RICH SPAN OF CULTURAL PERSPECTIVES AND MAKES CONTEMPORARY ART ACCESSIBLE TO DIVERSE AUDIENCES. SELECTED EXHIBITIONS PRESENTED AT SITE SANTA FE SANTA FE DURING THE YEAR INCLUDED:-JOANNA KEANE LOPEZ: LAND CRAFT THEATRE. AN INTIMATE DIALOGUE BETWEEN ARTIST AND MATERIAL, LAND CRAFT THEATRE ENRICHES THE VIEWER'S UNDERSTANDING OF LAND-SOURCED MATERIALS, SUCH AS ADOBE AND BOTANICAL DYES AND BRINGS EACH ASPECT OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS INTO FOCUS. COMPRISING TWO LARGE-SCALE SCULPTURAL INSTALLATIONS (ADOBE AND PAPER), KEANE LOPEZ INCORPORATES PLANT AND INSECT DYES, LAND-SOURCED COLORED CLAYS, AND HAND-HARVESTED ALIZ (A TRADITIONAL CLAY PLASTER) FROM NEW MEXICO.-OSWALDO MACI: NEW CARTOGRAPHIES OF SMELL MIGRATION. NEW CARTOGRAPHIES OF SMELL MIGRATION | SANTA FE IS A MULTI-SENSORY SCULPTURAL INSTALLATION. SET AMONG HAND PAINTED MAPS ANNOTATED WITH NOTES ON THE CULTURAL HISTORY AND BIOLOGICAL ROLE OF SMELL, THIS OLFACTORY-ACOUSTIC SCULPTURE DIFFUSES THE FRAGRANCE OF TREE RESINS SOURCED FROM FORESTS IN EL SALVADOR AND HONDURAS.-HELEN PASHGIAN: PRESENCES. AN EXHIBITION CELEBRATING PASHGIAN'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE LIGHT AND SPACE MOVEMENT AND HER TECHNICAL PROWESS AS AN INNOVATOR IN HER MEDIUM OF INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS. USING CAST RESIN TO EXAMINE LIGHT IN SOLID FORM, PASHGIAN CREATES SCULPTURE AND IMMERSIVE INSTALLATIONS THAT EXPLORE ILLUSION, PERCEPTION AND LIGHT.-NANI CHACON: SPECTRUM. A NEW BODY OF WORK FROM ARTIST NANI CHACON (B.1980 CHINLE, DINE) THAT EXPLORES CULTURAL REPAIR AND RADICAL COLONIAL RESISTANCE THROUGH MASTERFUL VISUAL STORYTELLING AND RE-TELLING. COMPOSED OF 10 NEWLY COMMISSIONED LARGE-SCALE PAINTINGS AND A SURVEY OF CHACON'S PUBLIC MURALS AND PERSONAL ARCHIVE, SPECTRUM DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM TRADITIONAL DIN CREATION MYTHOLOGY, AND BLENDS THIS WITH CHACON'S OWN EXPERIENCES AS A CONTEMPORARY INDIGENOUS ARTIST.-JEFFREY GIBSON: THE BODY ELECTRIC. A SOLO EXHIBITION SPANNING JEFFREY GIBSON'S MULTI-DECADE PRACTICE. GIBSON'S MERGING OF ARTISTIC STYLES, AND HISTORICAL AND CONTEMPORARY CULTURAL REFERENCES SYNERGIZES TO CREATE VIBRANT, MULTILAYERED WORKS OF ART THAT EXPRESS THE COMPLEXITIES AND RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN INJUSTICE, MARGINALIZATION, AND PERSONAL IDENTITY.


GENERAL PROGRAMS: SITE SANTA FE CREATES A PHYSICAL AND VIRTUAL SPACE THAT IS WELCOMING AND EDUCATIONAL TO ALL THROUGH VISITOR SERVICES, MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS OUTREACH, AND THE STORE. VISITOR'S EXPERIENCE IS ENHANCED BY A CURATED LOBBY SPACE THAT PROMOTES THE SALES OF BOOKS AND OBJECTS THAT ARE THEMATICALLY TIED TO THE EXHIBITIONS.


EDUCATION & PUBLIC PROGRAMS: SITE SANTA FE'S EDUCATION DEPARTMENT BRINGS ARTS PROGRAMMING INTO COMMUNITIES TO CO-CREATE PROJECTS WITH A DIVERSE RANGE OF PARTICIPANTS. SITE SANTA FE'S WORK IN THE SCHOOLS IS CONNECTED TO THE THEMES OF THE CURRENT EXHIBITION OR PUBLIC PROGRAMS, EXPLORES IDEAS RELEVANT TO CONTEMPORARY CULTURE, AND GIVES YOUTH AN OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND CRITICALLY AND CREATIVELY. SITE SANTA FE'S PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE A VITAL COMPONENT OF THE MUSEUM'S ANNUAL ARTS PROGRAMMING. A VARIETY OF PERFORMANCES, ARTIST TALKS, FILM SCREENINGS, CULINARY EXPERIENCES AND OTHER MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND PROVIDE MULTIPLE ACCESS POINTS FOR THE PUBLIC TO LEARN ABOUT AND DISCUSS THE ART ON DISPLAY.
