TO ENHANCE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH RECREATION. PROVIDING ADAPTIVE SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING LESSONS IN THE WINTER AND ADAPTIVE WATER SPORTS (SAILING, KAYAKING, PADDLEBOARDING) LESSONS IN THE SUMMER TO PERSONS WITH PHYSICAL AND/OR COGNITIVE DISABILITIES.

SINCE 1985, THE ADAPTIVE SPORTS PROGRAM NEW MEXICO (ASPNM) HAS GIVEN CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURSUE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES THROUGH ACTIVITIES INCLUDING WINTER SPORTS, WATERSPORTS, ROCK CLIMBING AND MORE. ASPNM STRIVES TO ENABLE EACH PARTICIPATING ATHLETE TO BE ACTIVE, FEEL EMPOWERED AND ACCOMPLISHED, AND DEVELOP A NETWORK OF SUPPORT THROUGH THE ASPNM COMMUNITY. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, ASPNM OPERATED ON A LIMITED SCALE OVER THE FY 2020-21 BUT WAS ABLE TO OFFER CAPACITY-REDUCED PROGRAMS, INCLUDING ADAPTIVE SKIING, SNOWBOARDING, ROCK CLIMBING, RAFTING, AND WATER SPORTS.
