ECONOMIC RESILIENCYTHE LONG BEACH FOOD SUPPORT NETWORK IS A COLLECTION OF 9 FOOD PANTRY PARTNERS AND 3 NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS IN LONG BEACH THAT HAVE BEEN WORKING TO MEET THE GROWING FOOD INSECURITY NEEDS OF UNDER-SERVED COMMUNITIES IN OUR CITY. AS T ED FOR FREE FOOD HAS GROWN THROUGHOUT THE COVID PANDEMIC, THIS NETWORK HAS ACTIVELY SERVED MORE THAN 1,500 HOUSEHOLDS EVERY WEEK SINCE LAST APRIL.OUR INITIATIVES INCLUDE, OFFERING FINANCIAL LITERACY EDUCATION FOR ALL AGES; CHILDREN, YOUTH AND ADULTS. EXPAND MULTILINGUAL FINANCIAL LITERACY CLASSES. FACILITATE REINTEGRATION ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING EXPUNGEMENT WORKSHOPS. CONNECT RESIDENTS TO FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS.
WORKFORCE / DIGITAL INCLUSIONMORE THAN EVER, A RELIABLE INTERNET CONNECTION AND ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF SCHOOL AND WORK FOR SO MANY LONG BEACH RESIDENTS. LBCEI IS WORKING WITH PARTNERS AROUND THE CITY TO HELP BRING THOSE RESOURCES TO THOSE WHO NEED IT. OUR INITIATIVES INCLUDE, TO PARTNER WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, AGENCIES AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO FACILITATE YOUTH AND ADULT TRAININGS. OFFER SOFT SKILLS (I.E. CUSTOMER SERVICE) AND TECHNICAL SKILLS TRAINING TO IMMIGRANTS, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, FORMERLY INCARCERATED, ETC. FACILITATE RESUME BUILDING WORKSHOPS AND JOB INTERVIEW TRAININGS. INTRODUCE YOUTH TO CAREERS IN TRADE AND EMERGING INDUSTRIES.
SMALL BUSINESS LBCEI IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING RESOURCES FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. THROUGH OUR LBCEI WEBINAR SERIES, SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS LEARNED NEW WAYS TO LOOK AT BUSINESS GROWTH AND THE FUTURE OF THE COMPANY. THE KEY TO BUSINESS GROWTH IS SETTING A VISION AND SOLID FOUNDATION FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND DRIVING GROWTH WITH NEW TOOLS AND AN ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET. BUSINESS EXPERTS TAUGHT NEW METHODS AND TOOLS THAT POSITIONED COMPANIES FOR GROWTH THOUGH VISION, MARKETING, AND SALES. OUR INITIATIVES INCLUDE, FACILITATE ENTREPRENEUR TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS.
