Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

THE MISSION OF ZOOMAGINATION IS TO FOSTER LOVE AND RESPECT FOR THE ANIMALS THAT SHARE OUR WORLD BY PROVIDING HEALING, REFUGE, COMMUNITY EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF UNWANTED, ABANDONED, AND SURRENDERED EXOTIC ANIMALS AND DISPLACED INDIGENOUS WILDLIFE.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

MOBILE ZOO ANIMAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS: ZOOMAGINATION IS UNIQUE IN THAT WE NOT ONLY PROVIDE RESCUE AND REHABILITATION SERVICES, BUT WE ALSO USE THESE ANIMALS AND OUR PLATFORMS IN SCHOOLS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES TO EDUCATE THE SAN ANTONIO COMMUNITY ABOUT OWNING AND REHOMING EXOTIC AND COMPANION ANIMALS AND PRESERVING HABITATS OF WILDLIFE. THROUGH CLASSES, ASSEMBLIES, SCIENCE FAIR BOOTHS, CAREER DAYS, AND SPECIAL NEEDS CLASSES, WE BRING THE ANIMALS FROM OUR RANCH TO LOCAL SCHOOLS, DAYCARES, NONPROFITS, AND CORPORATIONS. THESE MOBILE ZOO ANIMAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS EDUCATE YOUTH IN THE SAN ANTONIO COMMUNITY ABOUT CARING FOR COMPANION ANIMALS AND WILDLIFE.

CARING FOR EXOTIC ANIMALS ON OUR RANCH: ALL OF THE ANIMALS THAT WE BRING TO MOBILE ZOO ANIMAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS LIVE ON OUR ZOOMAGINATION RANCH. ZOOMAGINATION CURRENTLY CARES FOR 35+ ANIMALS ON OUR RANCH, INCLUDING TWO-TOED SLOTHS, AMERICAN ALLIGATORS, AN AFRICAN-CRESTED PORCUPINE, PYTHONS, MACAWS, COCKATOOS, OWLS, KINKAJOUS, BEARDED DRAGONS, RED-TAILED BOA CONSTRICTORS, A BLUE-TONGUED SKINK, A PEREGRINE X BARBARY FALCON, AND A MEXICAN RED-KNEE TARANTULA. MANY OF THESE ANIMALS ARE DONATED TO ZOOMAGINATION FROM LOCALLY- AND NATIONALLY-BASED ZOOS THAT DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO CARE FOR THESE ANIMALS, AS WELL AS OTHER WILDLIFE RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS AND NONPROFITS. IF ZOOMAGINATION HAD NOT ACCEPTED SOME OF THESE ANIMALS TO OUR RANCH, THEY MAY HAVE BEEN EUTHANIZED. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE FOSTERED SEVERAL KINDS OF ANIMALS UNTIL THEY FOUND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, INCLUDING KANGAROOS, WALLABIES,WARTHOGS, AND FOXES.

RESCUING EXOTIC ANIMALS TO GIVE THEM A BETTER LIFE: ZOOMAGINATION COLLABORATES WITH TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE, US FISH AND WILDLIFE, TEXAS WILDLIFE ASSOCIATION, HUMANE SOCIETY, AND LOCALLY- AND NATIONALLY-BASED ANIMAL SHELTERS AND GROUPS TO RESCUE ANIMALS AND PROVIDE THE MEDICAL CARE THEY NEED TO LIVE SAFE AND HAPPY LIVES ON OUR RANCH.
