Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

SAPIENTIA INITIATIVE'S MISSION IS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF, AND ACCESS TO, THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE FOR ALL. THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE IS A WELL-ESTABLISHED EDUCATIONAL METHOD AND SOMATIC PRACTICE THAT RELEASES PATTERNS OF CHRONIC PAIN AND TENSION THAT HAVE HABITUALLY BECOME A FIXED PART OF HOW A PERSON THINKS, MOVES, BREATHES, AND ACTS IN THE WORLD. THE TECHNIQUE WORKS WITH THE MUSCULOSKELETAL AND RESPIRATORY SYSTEMS IN CONNECTION WITH COGNITIVE PROCESSES TO HELP RELIEVE CHRONIC PAIN, REDUCE STRESS, AND IMPROVE POSTURE, COORDINATION, AND BREATHING. IT IS USED BY MANY PERFORMERS FOR GREATER EASE AND ACCURACY OF MOVEMENT.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

NATIONALLY CERTIFIED TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM (1,600 HOURS COMPLETED IN A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS, WITH A 5-TO-1 STUDENT TEACHER RATIO). THE ORGANIZATION'S TEACHER TRAINING COURSE CONTINUED TO DEVELOP, NURTURE, AND OFFER TEACHING OF THE HIGHEST STANDARDS ACCORDING TO THE PRINCIPLES OF F.M. ALEXANDER. IT PROVIDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO STUDENTS IN NEED, AND SUCCESSFULLY GRADUATED SIX NEW TEACHERS FOR NATIONAL CERTIFICATION.

ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE (AT) FACILITATION, EXPANSION, AND OUTREACH. SAPIENTIA CONTINUED TO SERVE AS A SUSTAINABLE AND EXPANDING LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR THOSE SEEKING PERSONAL GROWTH, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING THROUGH THE AT. TO THIS END, SAPIENTIA'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM "AT FOR ALL" PROVIDED DISCOUNTED AND NO-COST PRIVATE LESSONS TO THOSE WHO WOULD NOT HAVE OTHERWISE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY. WE OFFERED SEASONAL HYBRID AND IN-PERSON GROUP CLASSES FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AND CONTINUED LEARNING FOR TEACHERS, VIA "SAPIENTIA SERIES". TO FACILITATE PRIVATE AT LESSONS, THE CENTER'S FULLY-EQUIPPED ROOMS WERE OFFERED FREE TO STUDENTS TRAINING TO BE TEACHERS, AND AT BELOW-MARKET RATES FOR TEACHERS AND FACULTY. FINALLY, AN UPSTATE LAND ASSET WAS MAINTAINED AS A POTENTIAL SITE FOR FUTURE RESIDENTIAL COURSES OUTSIDE OF THE CITY.
