Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
ARC OF JUSTICE'S MAIN PROGRAM OFFERED ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR ACTIVE-DUTY WOUNDED WARRIORS IN THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES. EACH INDIVIDUAL SERVED IS ENROLLED IN, OR IS ABOUT TO BE ENROLLED IN, THE INTEGRATED DISABILITY EVALUATION SYSTEM (IDES). SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE: ADVOCATING FOR THE INDIVIDUAL WITH THEIR MILITARY COMMAND, WITH A BUREAUCRAT FROM THE DEFENSE HEALTH AGENCY (DHA), OBTAINING CONGRESSIONAL ASSISTANCE, AND/OR PROVIDING KNOWLEDGE OF HOW IDES WORKS SO THEY CAN SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATE THE SYSTEM. IN ADDITION TO THIS, ARC OF JUSTICE HAS PARTNERED WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO BE ABLE TO REFER INDIVIDUALS TOWARD ADDITIONAL LEGAL SERVICES TO HELP NAVIGATE ISSUES OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF WHAT ARC OF JUSTICE PROVIDES. THIS HAS ALLOWED OUR ORGANIZATION TO HELP CONNECT OUR TARGET POPULATION WITH TAILORED ADVOCACY AND TO FOCUS IN MORE THOROUGHLY ON THOSE SPECIFICALLY NAVIGATING IDES. A LARGE PART OF THE YEAR WAS DEVOTED TO MAKING THE PUBLIC AWARE OF OUR SOLDIERS' CHALLENGES THROUGH EDUCATION AND PRESENTATIONS. OUR PRINCIPAL WAS ABLE TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF WOUNDED WARRIORS BY SPEAKING AT CONFERENCES, AND THROUGH MULTIPLE INTERVIEWS IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE. THESE INCLUDED INTERVIEWS ON WELL-KNOWN PODCASTS WITH THOUGHT LEADERS WHO HAVE BECOME CONCERNED ABOUT THE COMPLICATION FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS IN NAVIGATING THE U.S. GOVERNMENT'S AND DEPT. OF DEFENSE'S SYSTEMS TO OBTAIN THE ASSISTANCE THEY NEED. GROUPS RANGED IN SIZE FROM APX. 1500 TO TENS OF THOUSANDS AND POTENTIALLY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.
