THE DRAPER COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (DCF) ORGANIZES AND CONDUCTS COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES INCLUDING: CULTURAL, HISTORICAL AND CIVIC EVENTS. THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: DRAPER DAYS, DRAPER NIGHTS, DRAPER RODEO, DRAPER ARTS COUNCIL MUSICAL PERFORMANCES, SUMMER CONCERTS, PLAN AND IMPROVE DRAPER TRAIL SYSTEMS AND HEALTHY DRAPER EVENTS

THE CORNER CANYON TRAILS COMMITTEE HAS BEEN A MAJOR ASSET IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE DRAPER CITY TRAIL SYSTEM. THE COMMITTEE HAVE WORKED WITH NEIGHBORING CITIES SUCH AS: ALPINE, HIGHLAND AND LEHI TO COORDINATE CONNECTING TRAILS TO REDUCE HIGH AREAS OF USAGE. THE DRAPER TRAIL SYSTEM IS WELL KNOWN AND IS ADVERTISED IN BIKE RIDING PUBLICATIONS INCREASING TRAIL USAGE THROUGHOUT THE CORNER CANYON AREA. THIS YEAR TRAILS WERE DESIGNED AND BUILT FOR ALL LEVELS OF BIKE RIDER, HORSE RIDERS AND HIKERS. LOCAL SCHOOLS ORGANIZE YOUTH BIKE CLUBS TO ENCOURAGE AWARENESS AND TO DEVELOP YOUTH PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES. THE YEAR 2021 CONTINUED TO SEE A GREAT USE OF THE DRAPER CITY TRAIL SYSTEM.


DRAPER DAYS IS A WEEK LONG CELEBRATION OF THE COMMUNITY OF DRAPER WITH A VARIETY OF PARK EVENTS, RODEO, PARADE, CONCERTS AND FIREWORKS. THE WEEK BEGINS WITH A HERITAGE BANQUET FEATURING SPEAKERS DISCUSSING HISTORIC ASPECTS OF THE DRAPER COMMUNITY SINCE ITS INCEPTION. DURING THE WEEK THERE IS A 2 DAY RODEO EVENT ALONG WITH A HORSE PULL ON AN ADDITIONAL NIGHT AND A MISS RODEO CONTEST. FRIDAY NIGHT INCLUDES FOOD COURT, VENDOR BOOTHS AND A PROFESSIONAL CONCERT, ALONG WITH FIREWORKS. SATURDAY KICKS OFF WITH A 5K RUN AND PARADE. PARK EVENTS ON SATURDAY INCLUDE, FOOD AND VENDORS BOOTHS, VARIOUS ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN BOTH OLD AND YOUNG. SATURDAY IS FINISHED WITH ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL CONCERT AND FIREWORKS. ESTIMATED ATTENDANCE IS BETWEEN 35,000 TO 50,000 ATTENDEES FROM ALL OVER THE SALT LAKE VALLEY.


EACH YEAR THE DRAPER ARTS COUNCIL CONTINUES TO TAKE ON MORE CHALLENGING PERFORMANCES WITH 2021 BEING NO EXCEPTION. THIS YEAR INCLUDED 3 MAJOR PERFORMANCES (MAMA MIA, ALADDIN JR. AND BIG BAND TRIBUTES) ALONG WITH SUMMER WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH. THE MAIN VENUE FOR THE MAJOR PERFORMANCES IS THE DRAPER AMPHITHEATER WHICH HELPS KEEPS COSTS DOWN AND PROVIDE OUTDOOR SUMMER EVENTS. THE COUNCIL HAS TAKEN STEPS TO PARTNER WITH OTHER LOCAL ENTITIES IN DRAPER OR NEARBY CITIES TO HELP REDUCE COSTS. PERFORMANCES INCLUDE PERFORMERS FROM DRAPER AND NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES WHICH PROVIDES A VARIETY OF BROAD BASED TALENT WHICH UPGRADES PRODUCTIONS AND MAKES FOR MORE CHALLENGING PERFORMANCES


THE REMAINING EXPENSE ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRAPER HISTORICAL SOCIETY WHICH HELPS TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF DRAPER. THE MISS DRAPER SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT WHICH PROVIDES VARIOUS SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUNG WOMEN IN DRAPER ALONG WITH RECEIVING VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE QUEEN, 1ST ATTENDANT AND 2ND ATTENDANT TO APPLY TO THEIR FURTHER EDUCATION. FREE SUMMER CONCERTS SERIES EACH MONDAY IN JUNE AT DRAPER HISTORIC PARK. IN ADDITION TO ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES FOR THE DCF
