THE MISSION OF FIRC IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN SUMMIT COUNTY, COLORADO BY PROVIDING SOCIAL AND FAMILY SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OF SUMMIT COUNTY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM. ASSISTING HISTORICALLY RESILIENT POPULATIONS WITH BASIC NEEDS INCLUDING FOOD, HOUSING, MEDICAL, UTILITY, AND CLOTHING ASSISTANCE AND OTHER NEEDED REFERRALS. CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES INCLUDE STRENGTH-BASED FAMILY GOAL SETTING TO HELP ADDRESS BUDGET GAPS AND ACHIEVE OVERALL GOALS.


FOOD SYSTEMS PROGRAM. PROVIDES OPTIONS FOR FREE, FRESH, AND NUTRITIOUS FOOD TO HELP FAMILIES STRETCH THEIR BUDGETS AND INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTHY OPTIONS, AND IS A COMMUNITY-WIDE COALITION TO GUIDE IMPROVEMENTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY'S FOOD SYSTEMS WHILE REDUCING STIGMA AROUND ACCESSING SERVICES AND PROMOTING EQUITABLE ACCESS.


ACCESS TO CARE PROGRAM. FREE, IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL APPLICATION ASSISTANCE FOR A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS INCLUDING MEDICAID, CHP+, SNAP, CHARITABLE CARE, AND CONNECT FOR HEALTH COLORADO. ADDITIONALLY, HEALTH NAVIGATORS EDUCATE CLIENTS ON HOW BEST TO UTILIZE THEIR BENEFITS WHILE CONNECTING CLIENTS TO CARE PROVIDERS. SPECIALIZED MENTAL HEALTH NAVIGATION TO CONNECT INDIVIDUALS TO MULTIPLE RESOURCES AND PROVIDERS INCLUDING VOUCHERS FOR SERVICES. PEER SUPPORT PROGRAMMING FOR LATINA/HISPANI WOMEN GOING THROUGH CHALLENGING TIMES PROMOTING CONNECTION, RESILIENCE, AND SUPPORT.


PARENTING PROGRAM. HOME VISITATION TO SUPPORT PARENTS TO MAXIMIZE THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN'S SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND COGNITIVE GROWTH. PROVIDING CONNECTION TO RESOURCES SO THAT PARENTS CAN FOCUS ON CREATING A NURTURING HOME ENVIRONMENT AND PROMOTING THEIR CHILD'S HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT.OTHER PROGRAMS. FIRC OPERATES A NONPROFIT THRIFT STORE, SUMMIT THRIFT & TREASURE, THAT RECYCLES CLOTHING AND HOUSE WARES AND PROVIDE THESE ITEMS TO THE COMMUNITY AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE. THIS PROGRAM HAS ALSO BECOME A GATHERING PLACE FOR THE COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY, OFFERING VOLUNTEER AND JOB TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES TO MORE THAN 100 COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
