IN RESPONSE TO MULTIPLE BARRIERS FACED BY ABUSE SURVIVORS WITH DISABILITIES TO REACH SAFETY AND STABILITY, THE INITIATIVE'S DIRECT SERVICE IS ROOTED IN ACCESSIBLE CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE TRAUMA-INFORMED VALUES, AND WE PROVIDE OUTREACH TRAINING TO MAKE THE COMMUNITY MORE ACCESSIBLE AND INCLUSIVE. THE DIRECT SERVICES FOCUS IS ON SAFETY, SELF-SUFFICIENCY, CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM SUPPORT, AND HEALING AND RECOVERY. IN 2021, THE INITIATIVE SERVED 421 PRIMARY SURVIVORS WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR CHILDREN WHO ARE THE SECONDARY SURVIVORS, AND TOOK 3,132 CRISIS CALLS. THE INITIATIVE PROVIDED PRESENTATIONS TO SERVICE PROVIDERS, WHICH INCLUDES ENTITIES OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS, WITH 2,351 AUDIENCE MEMBERS.
