TO SUPPORT, FOSTER INTEREST IN AND PROMOTE THE PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES AND CAPABILITIES OF THE LONGMONT SENIOR CENTER FOR OLDER ADULTS.

Part 3 - Line 4a
SPONSORED SENIOR CENTER PROGRAMS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES TO ENHANCE AND IMPROVE SENIOR'S LIVES RELATING TO THEIR HEALTH AND WELLNESS. THE ORGANIZATIONS PROGRAMS AND RELATED ACTIVITIES WERE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTED DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. DURING 2021, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED REGULAR EMAIL NEWSLETTERS TO OVER 2,000 INDIVIDUALS AND 25 REGULAR GROUP SESSIONS TO 58 SPANISH SPEAKING INDIVIDUALS. 444 INDIVIDUALS WERE PROVIDED COUNSELING SERVICES AND REFERRALS TO ASSIST THEM IN DEALING WITH PANDEMIC RELATED PROBLEMS SUCH AS GRIEF, LONELINESS, CONFLICT WITH FAMILY AND ANXIETY. 64 LOW INCOME SENIORS RECEIVED EMERGENCY SUPPORT FOR BASIC NEEDS SUCH AS DENTURES, EYE GLASSES, RENT, MOVING COSTS, ETC. CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP WITH SENIOR SMILES WHICH HELPED TO PROVIDE 6 SENIORS WITH DENTAL CARE. ON AVERAGE, 58 INDIVIDUALS PER MONTH RECEIVED EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FROM STAFF AND 12 TRAINED PEER SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS. FOUR UNIQUE SUPPORT GROUPS WERE OFFERED AND MAINTAINED DURING 2021.
PROVIDED GRANTS TO THE CITY OF LONGMONT FOR OPERATIONS AND SHORT-TERM STAFFING SUPPORT. THIS YEAR (2021) MORPHED INTO A YEAR OF HYBRID PRESENCE WITH THE RETURN OF SOME IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING AND CONTINUED VIRTUAL CONNECTING OF OLDER ADULTS NEAR AND FAR.
PROVIDED CULTURAL PROGRAMS AND OTHER EVENTS FOR SENIORS; PROVIDED LOW INCOME SENIORS WITH ACCESS TO VARIOUS CITY OF LONGMONT FIELD TRIPS AND CLASSES THAT THEY OTHERWISE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND FOR FINANCIAL REASONS. 223 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED THE ELEVEN CULTURAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS. 70 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ATTEND SENIOR CENTER PROGRAMS.
