Part 3
THE ALABAMA OPPORTUNITY ACTION FUND AOAF WAS FORMED IN MARCH 2019 WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE AMERICAN FEDERATION FOR CHILDREN TO CREATE POSITIVE GRASSROOTS AND LEGISLATIVE INFLUENCE FOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND SCHOOL CHOICE PROGRAMS IN ALABAMA. AOAF PUT HUNDREDS OF SCHOLARSHIP FAMILIES DIRECTLY IN CONTACT WITH THEIR STATE LEGISLATORS TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM THROUGH FEDERAL CARES FUNDING. ADDITIONALLY, AOAF CONTINUES TO WORK WITH THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE TO SECURE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE PROGRAM DUE TO THE PANDEMIC'S IMPACT ON FUNDRAISING.
