MASCOMA VALLEY PRESERVATION'S MISSION IS TO PRESERVE AT-RISK HISTORIC BUILDINGS FOR PUBLIC USE

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2020 AND 2021, MASCOMA VALLEY PRESERVATION RAISED OVER $12,000 THROUGH NH GIVES AND OUR QUILT SQUARE FUNDRAISER TO CONTINUE THE RESTORATION OF THE FIRE-DAMAGED GRAFTON CENTER MEETINGHOUSE, RESTORING THE FOUNDATION AND TIMBERFRAME SO THAT THE BUILDING IS SAFE AND SECURE FOR FUTURE USE. WE ALSO COORDINATED SEVERAL CLEANUP DAYS AT THE KIMBALL MILL TO REMOVE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS THAT WERE A THREAT TO BOTH THE SURROUNDING LAND, RIVER, AND PEOPLE. SALVAGEABLE COLLECTABLES FROM THE KIMBALL MILL WERE SOLD AT THE LOCAL TOWNWIDE YARDSALE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE BUILDING AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY TO MEET MVP MEMBERS FIRST HAND AND GET TO KNOW OUR WORK. MASCOMA VALLEY PRESERVATION ACQUIRED THE CHEEVER CHAPEL IN DORCHESTER, TAKING ON THE ORPHANED BUILDING, WHICH STILL SERVES AS A CONGRESSIONAL MEETING PLACE, SAVING IT FROM DEMOLITION.
