SALT CONDUCTED ITS ANNUAL SUMMER SOCCER CAMP FOR CHILDREN IN THE ALTON, IL COMMUNITY. THE FREE SOCCER WELLNESS PROGRAM WAS ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 40 CHILDREN AT 2 DIFFERENT SITES IN THE CITY. SALT WAS ONE OF ONLY A SELECT FEW ORGANIZATIONS AND CITIES IN THE COUNTRY TO PARTICIPATE IN A NATIONAL PILOT PROGRAM OF THE US SOCCER FOUNDATION'S SOCCER FOR SUCCESS IN SCHOOL PILOT PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM INTRODUCED FUNDAMENTAL SOCCER NUTRITION EDUCATION PRINCIPLES TO CHILDREN AGES 6 TO 12 AS PART OF A SCHOOL DISTRICT'S PE HEALTH EDUCATION CURRICULUM. THE SALT PILOT PROGRAM WAS CONDUCTED AT 2 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN THE ALTON SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE SPRING, 2022 SEMESTER EAST, WEST ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, WITH PLANS TO CONTINUE EXPAND THE PROGRAM IN 2022. SALT BEGAN PLANNING FUNDRAISING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SOCCER FUTSAL MINI PITCH IN THE ALTON, IL COMMUNITY THROUGH THE US SOCCER FOUNDATION'S NATIONAL COURT BUILDING INITIATIVE, SAFE PLACES TO PLAY, WITH A DESIRED COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT FOR 2022. SALT ESTABLISHED KEY COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH VITAL REGIONAL ORGANIZATION PARTNERS, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING NEW DIMENSION SOCCER, A STL BASED SOCCER BASED YOUTH DEVELOPMENT NONPROFIT WITH OVER 18 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE SERVING THE STL REGION, STL CITY SC MLS SOCCER FRANCHISE, AND ITS CITY FUTURES YOUTH SOCCER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.
