FRIENDS OF HUNTSVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION FOHPR IS ORGANIZED FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. IT OPERATES EXCLUSIVELY FOR PARKS RECREATIONAL ARTS CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 501C3 OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. THE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE AND TO PROVIDE PARKS ARTS RECREATION AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS FOR THE PUBLIC.

Part 3 - Line 4a
SKATE PARK - FOHPR PARTNERED WITH THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER HUNTSVILLE FOR FUNDRAISING TO BUILD A WORLD-CLASS INNOVATIVE SKATE PARK AT JOHN HUNT PARK IN HUNTSVILLE ALABAMA. THE SKATEPARK PROJECT WILL INCLUDE SUPPORTING FACILITIES SUCH AS RESTROOMS PAVILIONS SUNSHADES LIGHTING LANDSCAPING AND EXPANDED PARKING.
THERAPEUTIC RECREATION - VARIOUS RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE SPECIAL POPULATIONS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDED A BASEBALL GAME MOVIES BOWLING SUMMER PROGRAMS AT THE BURRITT MUSEUM AND BOTANICAL GARDENS AND MORE TO ASSIST OUR SPECIAL NEEDS GROUPS.
OTHER RECREATION ACTIVITIES - INCLUDES EXPENSES PAID FOR OUTDOOR CONCERTS FOR THE PUBLIC TO ENJOY.
