COMMUNITY GRANTS - IN ADDITION TO CURRENT OR FUTURE DIRECT PROGRAMS, UNION SHAREWAVES FOUNDATION MAKES GRANTS TO OTHER COMMUNITY ATHLETICS CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE THE PARTICIPATION AND WELLNESS OF LOCAL YOUTH IN SPORTS.
THE UNION SHAREWAVES FOUNDATION LAUNCHED THE READY2PLAY TRAINING EXPERIENCE WHICH PROVIDED 10-WEEK VIRTUAL PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES TO APPROXIMATELY 4,800 STUDENT PARTICIPANTS IN KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM EARNED REWARD POINTS TO BE USED AT LOCAL STORES. THIS PROGRAM WAS AN EFFORT TO HELP THE YOUTH STAY PHYSICALLY, SOCIALLY AND EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY WHILE EMPHASIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING READY TO PLAY.
THE UNION SHAREWAVES FOUNDATION HOSTED MOVEMENT IS THE MEDICINE WHICH INCLUDED A 5K FOR MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND A 90-MINUTE SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM CO-SPONSORED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES.
