STONE SOUP EMPOWERS PEOPLE EXPERIENCING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT TO ACHIEVE SELF-RELIANCE THROUGH TRAINING FOR CAREERS IN THE FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY.

IN 2023, STONE SOUP CONTINUED TO FULFILL OUR MISSION OF TRAINING THOSE WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. WE WERE ABLE TO ENROLL 41 JOB TRAINING PARTICIPANTS DURING 2023 AND OF THOSE WHO GRADUATED FROM THE PROGRAM, 50% WERE ABLE TO FIND WORK WITHIN THREE MONTHS OF GRADUATION. THE PROGRAM'S POPULARITY AND SOLID REPUTATION IS EVIDENCED BY A FOUR-MONTH WAITLIST TO ENTER THE PROGRAM. IN 2023, WE CONTINUED TO IMPROVE WRAP-AROUND SERVICES BY EXPANDING SERVICES AVAILABLE TO BOTH CURRENT PARTICIPANTS AND OUR ALUMNI NETWORK.


IN 2023, STONE SOUP CONTINUED OUR COMMUNITY MEALS PROGRAM, PREPARING AND DELIVERING MEALS TO SHELTERS, RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES, DAY CENTERS AND SCHOOLS. THESE MEALS DELIVERED TO FOOD INSECURE INDIVIDUALS CONTINUED TO PROVIDE A MISSION-DRIVEN SOURCE OF INCOME AND A SOLID PLATFORM TO TRAIN OUR CULINARY TRAINING PARTICIPANTS. IN 2023, WAS ABLE TO PREPARE AND DELIVER 46,382 MEALS. NOT ONLY DID THESE MEALS HELP FEED INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY, BUT THEY ALSO PROVIDED A MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY CONNECTION TO NONPROFIT-RUN SHELTERS AND TREATMENT FACILITIES, WHICH ARE ALSO AVAILABLE TO HIRE STONE SOUP GRADUATES.
