EDUCATION & FEEDING PROGRAM.TAXPAYER STARTED A SCHOOL IN A REFUGEE CAMP THAT IS JUST INSIDE OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. TAXPAYER PAYS FOR THE FOOD TO FEED BETWEEN 30 AND 40 CHILDREN, PAYS FOR A PERSON TO PREPARE THE FOOD, PAYS FOR THE TEACHER IN THE SCHOOL AND FOR AN ADMINISTRATOR. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES PRIMARY EDUCATION FOR BETWEEN 35 AND 40 CHILDREN FROM THE AGES OF 4 TO 15. THE KIDS COME TO THE SCHOOL 5 DAYS A WEEK FOR 6.5 HOURS AND ARE BEING TAUGHT BASIC READING, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC WITH THE GOAL OF PROVIDING ENOUGH EDUCATION TO THE YOUTH SO THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO GO ON TO SECONDARY EDUCATION OR OBTAIN A JOB BETTER THAN THEY WOULD BEING ILLITERATE.
