YOUTH ACADEMY PROGRAM: THE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF UNIQUE AND HANDS-ON PROGRAMMING FOR HIGH SCHOOL AGE YOUTH WHO ARE INTERESTED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE ROLE AND MULTIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS HAVE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. ITS GOAL IS TO CREATE A MENTORING AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THAT INSTILLS TEAMWORK, DISCIPLINE, LEADERSHIP, TEAM BUILDING AND CORE VALUES AS THE CENTER OF THE PROGRAM, WHICH IS STAFFED BY MO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES. THE PROGRAM ALSO AIMS TO CREATE A BETTER BOND AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN AREA YOUTH, LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY.
