RESEARCH - CONDUCTED EXTENSIVE LEGAL AND FACTUAL RESEARCH INTO HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES AND OTHER VIOLATIONS OF INTERNATIONAL LAW IN AREAS OF ARMED CONFLICT AND OCCUPATION. DESK AND FIELD RESEARCH WERE CONDUCTED, RESEARCH MEMORANDUMS AND RECORDS WERE PRODUCED, AND CONCLUSIONS WERE DRAWN ABOUT THE PROSPECT FOR LEGAL SERVICES AND ACTION. THE NUMBER OF PERSONS WHO STAND TO BENEFIT IN THE COMING YEARS FROM THIS RESEARCH IS APPROXIMATELY 25,000 DIRECT BENEFICIARIES AND MANY MORE TENS OF THOUSANDS WHO MAY INDIRECTLY BENEFIT.

CAPACITY BUILDING - OPERATED VARIOUS PROGRAMS TO TRAIN BUDDING HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYERS AND OTHER HUMAN RIGHTS PROFESSIONALS IN THE FIELD OF BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS LAW THROUGH INTERNSHIP AND VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS, MENTORING, ON-LINE AND IN-PERSON LECTURES, AND SUPERVISION OF PROJECTS AT LAW CLINICS IN UNIVERSITIES. THIS YEAR, 7 BUDDING HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYERS BENEFITED DIRECTLY FROM TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP THROUGH OUR IN-HOUSE AND CLINIC-BASED CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM, AND AN ESTIMATED 200 STUDENTS AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS BENEFITED FROM OUR LECTURES ABOUT BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS.
