MARYLAND MATTERS IS AN INDEPENDENT, NONPROFIT AND NONPARTISAN NEWS SITE DEDICATED TO REPORTING ON CRITICAL DEVELOPMENTS IN MARYLAND, PARTICULARLY CONCERNING GOVERNMENT, PUBLIC POLICY AND POLICY MAKERS, TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON SUBJECTS USEFUL TO RESIDENTS AND BENEFICIAL TO THE COMMUNITY. MARYLAND MATTERS PROVIDES CITIZENS WITH THE NEWS THEY NEED TO HOLD THEIR GOVERNMENT AND ELECTED OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE.

WE PRODUCED THOUSANDS OF ORIGINAL NEWS REPORTS AND COMMENTARIES ABOUT KEY ISSUES IN THE STATE INCLUDING ELECTIONS, EDUCATION, TRANSPORTATION, CLIMATE, CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND HEALTH. MARYLAND MATTERS SEEKS TO PROVIDE NEWS WITH ORIGINAL REPORTING THAT EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ABOUT SUBJECTS THAT ARE USEFUL AND ESSENTIAL TO THEIR COMMUNITIES. MARYLAND MATTERS' PUBLIC SERVICE REPORTING INCLUDED INCISIVE COVERAGE OF LEGISLATIVE AND CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING, THE CONSEQUENTIAL ONCE-A-DECADE PROCESS THAT CAN DETERMINE THE POWER AND POLICIES THAT AFFECTS THE LIVES OF MARYLAND CITIZENS.
