THE NEXUS IMPACT CENTER UNITES, INSPIRES AND RESOURCES PEOPLE TO CULTIVATE IMPACT-DRIVEN BUSINESS MODELS. WE WORK WITH BOTH NONPROFITS AND FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, PROVIDING LIKE-MINDED COMMUNITY, ECONOMICAL SPACE, ADVOCACY FOR IMPACT-BASED BUSINESS MODELS AND SUPPORT THROUGH CONNECTING MEMBERS TO PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES.

ECONOMICAL SPACE FOR IMPACT-BASED BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS TO WORK, MEET AND HOLD EVENTS. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 28 OF OUR 30 OFFICES WERE LEASED AT YEAR-END. EIGHT WERE NONPROFITS, FOUR WERE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES, AND 17 WERE IMPACT-BASED BUSINESSES WHICH HAVE BEEN EMBEDDING IMPACT INTO THEIR BUSINESS MODELS. IMPACT IS THROUGH EMPLOYMENT, PRODUCT/SERVICES, GIVING AND EQUITABLE SUPPLY CHAINS.
ECONOMICAL OFFICE AMENITIES (MAILBOX, FURNITURE RENTAL) TO LOWER BARRIERS FOR IMPACT-BASED BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: WE HAVE SOUGHT TO FIND THE TOOLS AND SERVICES OUR MEMBERS NEED AND PROVIDE THINGS LIKE LOCKED MAILBOXES, STORAGE SPACE AND FURNITURE FOR SUITES AT A VERY LOW MONTHLY COST SO THEY CAN FOCUS ON THEIR BUSINESSES.
SHARED SPACE FOR START-UPS, SOLOPRENEURS AND FREELANCERS TO LAUNCH AND GROW THEIR BUSINESSES. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: WE HAD 108 COWORKING MEMBERS THROUGHOUT 2022 WHO UTILIZED THE SHARED SPACE AND CONNECTED WITH THE COMMUNITY. WE HELPED CONNECT MANY OF THEM TO RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS TO KEEP THEIR BUSINESS GOING THROUGH THE ONGOING IMPACT FROM THE PANDEMIC/INFLATION. MANY OF WHICH FOUND WAYS TO CONTINUE TO PIVOT AND GROW.
WE HOSTED A COHORT TO BRING TOGETHER DIVERSE BOARD CANDIDATES WITH NONPROFIT BOARDS WHO WERE SEEKING EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN THE BOARD ROOM. INDIVIDUALS DID SELF-STUDIES AROUND EQUITY AND INCLUSION, MET IN MONTHLY ALLY GROUPS FOR SHARED LEARNING AND QUARTERLY AT POWER PLAYS TO START A LONG-TERM POWERHOUSE NETWORK OF DIVERSE PROFESSIONALS COMMITTED TO EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN THE BOARD ROOM, THEREBY CREATING INNOVATION FOR REAL SOCIAL IMPACT. OF THE ORIGINAL GROUP, EIGHTEEN COMPLETED THE PROGRAM AND EARNED CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION TO GO ON AND IMPACT THE MANY BOARDS THEY DO AND WILL SERVE ON THROUGHOUT THEIR CAREERS.
