THE NELSON MUSEUM OF THE WEST IS A MUSEUM OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FROM MAY THROUGH OCTOBER EACH YEAR. IT DISPLAYS MILITARY, COWBOY AND NATIVE AMERICAN ARTIFACTS, WESTERN ART, AND NATURAL HISTORY MATERIAL IN A WAY TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AS TO THE HISTORY OF THE OLD WEST.

THE MUSEUM HAS 2,634 VISITORS IN 2023 OF WHICH 923 WERE INDIVIDUALS FROM SCHOOLS OR CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS WHO VISITED THE MUSEUM AT NO COST TO THEM. THE MUSEUM WAS OPEN 139 DAYS IN 2023 FROM MAY THROUGH OCTOBER 2023.
