COMMUNITY PROJECTS IMPLEMENTATION: PUENTE'S MISSION AND VISION IS TO EMPOWER LOCALS TO DRIVE CHANGE WITHIN THEIR HOME COMMUNITIES. NOT ONLY DO WE PROVIDE RESOURCES SUCH AS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE BUT WE ALSO PROVIDE HARD MATERIALS TO COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. IN THE FISCAL YEAR DESCRIBED PUENTE FUNDED AND IMPLEMENTED 104 BATHROOMS 73 CEMENT FLOORS 1 COMMUNITY-WIDE WATER ACCESS PROJECTS AND A CANAL PROJECT. OUR WATER ACCESS PROJECT IMPACTED OVER 500 HOUSEHOLDS AND 1200 INDIVIDUALS INCLUDING AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. IN TOTAL OUR WATER SANITATION AND HYGIENE PROJECTS IMPACTED 1600+ INDIVIDUALS. OUR TEAM ALSO WORKED WITH THE LOCAL CITY HALL TO IMPLEMENT 450 FEET OF DRAINAGE CANALS FOR AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY PUENTE DISTRIBUTED 86 CERAMIC WATER FILTERS TO FAMILIES DRINKING CONTAMINATED WATER. LASTLY PUENTE STAFF SUCCESSFULLY TRAINED ALL 1600 RECIPIENTS ACROSS 9 COMMUNITIES ON HEALTHY PRACTICES CHRONIC CONDITIONS AND NUTRITION.
MOBILE DATA COLLECTION: PUENTE DEVELOPS TECHNOLOGY USED BY DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONERS THROUGHOUT THE GLOBE. PUENTE'S APPLICATION IS USED BY HOST-COUNTRY NATIONALS TO BETTER ANALYZE AND PRIORITIZE HEALTH AND INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITIES. MORESO MEDICAL MISSIONS USE PUENTE'S APPLICATION TO GATHER INFORMATION ON RESIDENT'S MONTH AFTER MONTH YEAR AFTER YEAR. THIS INFORMATION IS THEN USED TO CREATE LONGITUDINAL DATA AND PLACE ORGANIZATIONS WHERE THEY CAN BE THE MOST IMPACTFUL. IN THE FISCAL YEAR DESCRIBED PUENTE'S TECHNOLOGY WAS USED BY OVER 200 USERS WHO COLLECTED NEARLY 80,000 SURVEYS ON INFRASTRUCTURE AND HEALTH CONDITIONS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. OVER 8 ORGANIZATIONS USE PUENTE'S DATA COLLECTION APPLICATION TO GATHER AND ACT UPON COMMUNITY INSIGHTS. OUR DATA COLLECTION SOFTWARE IS KEY TO PINPOINTING COMMUNITY NEEDS IN ORDER TO BEST ADDRESS ONGOING ISSUES.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRAINING: PUENTE TRAINS LOCALS ON HOW TO CREATE THEIR OWN CHANGE. PUENTE HAS 3 DIFFERENT TRAINING COURSES: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT HEALTH PROMOTERS AND WATER SANITATION AND HYGIENE. DURING TRAINING PUENTE STAFF IS TAUGHT SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES STAKEHOLDER PARTICIPATION DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS WATER TESTING IN THE FIELD GRANT WRITING AND IMPLEMENTATION AND EXECUTION. PUENTE SUCCESSFULLY TRAINED 21 NEW INDIVIDUALS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR MENTIONED. PUENTE EXPANDED ITS SCOPE TO NOW FOCUS ON CONSUELO DAJABON AND BARAHUCO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. PUENTE GATHERED WATER QUALITY TESTS ON OVER 125 HOUSEHOLDS AND VISITED OVER 2,500 HOMES FOR PATIENT VISITS WHERE WE CHECK VITALS OF AT-RISK PATIENTS FOR HYPERTENSION DIABETES AND ANEMIA. MORE IMPORTANTLY WE WORKED WITH INCOMING MEDICAL MISSIONS TO PROVIDE OVER 3,000 INDIVIDUALS WITH HANDS-ON CARE--BOTH IN THE CLINIC AND HOME SETTINGS. ALL OF OUR PARTNERS WORK WITH THE DOCTORS FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC'S MINISTRY OF PUBLIC HEALTH TO CREATE REFERRAL AND ACTION PLANS. OUR TEAM OF PRACTITIONERS THEN USE OUR TECHNOLOGY AND THEIR SKILLS TO ENSURE EVERYONE IS FOLLOWING UP WITH THEIR PLANS.
